Afghan in Two Shades of PurpleSadie made this afghan for me around 1970, to go with my lavender bedroom. It traveled with me from Wilmington to Boston and from Boston to Albuquerque. After 30 years of hard use, I feared that one more round of kneading by a happy cat would cause my purple treasure to unravel, so I reluctantly took it out of service. Then my mother-in-law Maybelle Johnson labored over it for many hours while visiting Albuquerque in 2003, restoring/repairing the afghan to near-original condition. Thank you, Maybelle! -- Zelda |
